Skelmorlie Golf Club
About the club
Skelmorlie Golf Club is a long established 18 hole private golf course on the West Coast of Scotland with stunning views of the Firth of Clyde. Only 40 minutes from Glasgow & enjoying an unusually temperate climate, main greens can almost always be used throughout the winter months. This is a friendly little club with a challenging course that will test all levels of handicap. Play well and you may be rewarded with a score in the sixties, but don't be fooled by the shortish yardage of the course. The par 3 holes in particular will test even the best golfers if there is a stiff breeze blowing from the sea. Skelmorlie Golf Club celebrated its centenary year in 1991 and built 5 new holes in 1999 becoming an 18 hole course, relinquishing its title of the oldest 13 hole golf course in the world. The new holes have now fully matured and Skelmorlie is now an excellent example of a moorland course (par 65 sss 65) with testing par 4 holes and a number of extremely testing par 3 holes. Any visitor playing to their handicap around Skelmorlie will be well pleased with their game.
