About the club

Stamford Golf Club offers a unique and friendly golf experience, boasting 18 holes created on moorland and parkland terrain. Our excellent golf course is an enjoyable challenge for golfers of all abilities on which to enjoy relaxing or competitive golf, as either a member, visitor or with a society or friends. The Club is situated in the foothills of the Pennines and has an ideal location which borders Stalybridge, Ashton-u-Lyne and Mossley in Greater Manchester just 12 miles from Manchester city centre. The Club is affiliated to the Cheshire Union being, prior to 1974, in the narrow northern part of Cheshire which borders Lancashire, Derbyshire and the West Riding of Yorkshire. The course is under the management of Green Keeper John Pierrepoint and his team who maintain the course to the highest standard. It is beautifully presented and maintained. The course has become one of the most desirable locations in the area, presenting many challenges in a picturesque setting.
