The Berkshire Golf Club - Red
About the club
The Red is the better known of the Berkshire Club's two courses owing to its exciting holes and stunning setting amid towering evergreens and birch trees and expanses of heather. The par 72 course itself is nicely proportioned with six par 3s, six par 4s, and six par 5s. Today's pros can make some of these holes in two, which has made for some impressive scores when England's leading amateurs have met at the annual two-day Berkshire Trophy. The Red, then, though more intimidating, is actually in some ways easier than its sister course. The start, however, is equally brutal: the par 5 1st requires a lie just shy of a shallow ravine 250 or so yards from the tee shot in order to have a chance at the green. Other standout holes include par 5 13th and 15th, and the long par 3 10th that crosses another ravine to an elevated green
