The Pines Golf Centre

About the club

The Pines Golf Centre is a golf course and driving range situated in the north of the town of Dumfries, in the South West of Scotland. The par 68 Golf Course is open to all players and we regularly host golfing parties/groups from all over Britain. We have a range of golf packages on offer including food and drink. Our fully floodlit 18-bay driving range is ideal for honing your game and our resident P.G.A professional, Steve Peat is available for trained advice. We coach over a hundred people each week including a large number of junior groups which follow the nationally recognised Golf passport scheme and Clubgolf Scotland program. We offer full memberships to locals which allows free use of the golf course and you can also purchase memberships for our grass tee practise area on the rangeand or extensive short game practise area which features greens, bunkers and water hazards to play on. Country memberships are also available at a reduced rate for people outside of Dumfries and Galloway to hold a handicap here. Playing our 18 hole, par 68 golf course is a memorable experience with water playing an intrinsic part by coming into play on seven of the holes. There is plenty of variety with the course being a mixture of parkland and heathland. The greens are a particular feature of the course, all having subtle undulations and an exceptional putting surface. A variety of tees ensure that all standards of golfer can enjoy their game. The second, a sharp dog-leg round trees with a green set in a wooded delland the third, again a sharp dog-leg with a pond in front of the green, provide a difficult start. Underlying sand and gravel ensure good playing conditions all year round. The Pines feature hole is a 146 yard par three with water on three sides of the green, this is followed by the toughest hole on the course, the 17th, a 410 yard par four with a tight second shot to a green set into a background of heather, Birch and Pines.
