Trevose Golf Club
About the club
Trevose is notable for its scenery—the ocean is visible from each of the holes—and for the fact that Harry S. Colt designed it. Colt laid out a links-like front nine that follows the shore and sand dunes and a back nine that plays more inland. Much of the course is level, but breezes off the sea naturally complicate things. Trevose tends to attract vacationers, some of whom have made the area their home away from home, and the residences rival those at Royal Berkshire. The club hosted the 2008 Brabazon Trophy, in preparation for which significant improvements were made, including the addition of approximately two dozen bunkers and the lengthening of the holes so that the course now measures 6400 meters from the back tees. The Gammon family has owned and operated the course for generations, and has ensured that it holds the appeal of authentic students of the game.
