About the club

Woking for a long time hosted the Bath Club Cup, a competition among London's more historic clubs, and the course here not surprisingly has a real vintage feel. A good example is the par 4 opening hole, where the tee shot calls for a drive up and over a hill to a hidden green. Another example, and some players' favorite hole, is the 300-plus-yard 4th, which follows the rail line from Portsmouth to London and has its narrow fairway interrupted by a bunker right at the place where one would expect to frame a straightforward shot with an iron, though a shot from between the bunker and the boundary line creates a nice set up for chipping. With the 14th hole, the course makes its way back to the clubhouse, a charming, single-storey ranch-style edifice where players can refresh themselves before completing the 15th through the 18th.
