Wortley Golf Club

About the club

Wortley Golf Club is a picturesque parkland course set in the tranquil, natural woodland surrounds of the historic Wharncliffe Estate. Our club was founded in 1894 and to this day remains a unique oasis of peace, set against the backdrop of the pleasant sights and sounds of nature. Our 18 hole par 68 course measures 6025 yards off the back tees; the undulating fairways and subtly contoured greens present a challenging but fair test of golf for enthusiasts of all abilities. We are able to boast a relatively small playing membership all of whom benefit from being able to turn up and play almost at any time without queuing; the booking of tee times for members is limited to major competition days. Our social calendar is varied, well attended and runs throughout the whole of the year. We are always delighted to welcome visitors, visiting parties and new members to experience and share with us our top quality golf course. Ian, Richard and Rob who staff the Professional's Shop are always happy to deal with any inquiries you may have.
