Dalat Palace Golf Club
About the club
The original course at Dalat Palace was laid out by the French not long after World War I, but fell into disuse after World War II. Reopened again in the late Fifties, the club was visited by Billy Casper in 1966 in the lead up to his US Open victory; the modest English clubhouse dates from this period, and contributes to the vintage feel of the place. After again falling into disuse after the US withdrew from Vietnam in 1975, the classic design was reinvigorated by Brit Stenson in the early Nineties. The club occupies a site at nearly five thousand feet in elevation, with evergreen woods and abundant native water hazards that factor into more than half of the holes. Most of the fairways are generous, as are the greens of bentgrass, which allow for some bump and run. Players of all kinds will appreciate the welcoming service and the clean crisp atmosphere.
